Fall Bible Blog 2020

We Are Going to Tell Them What

Welcome to Monday Friends!  The start of a new week and a new person in the Bible to study.  This week we are going to be talking about Sarah.   You know, of Abraham and Sarah, way back in the very beginning of the Bible in the book of Genesis.  I have picked a few highlight from the life of Sarah to talk about this week and then of course this weekend we will be wrapping it all up.   If you need a little refresher on the whole story of Abraham and Sarah you might want to take a moment to watch this video.  It is a video that covers the whole second part of the Genesis.

One of the themes that we are going to see with both Sarah and Abraham is that they kind of mess up along the way.  They don’t always do everything the way God would have them do it.  Does that sound familiar or what?  I don’t know about you but I mess things up all the time.  However, the wonderful thing about God is that God doesn’t call perfect people, God calls people who are a mess.  When we serve God we make a lot of mistakes, but as we serve God for longer and longer we grow and learn.  However, even people who have served God for a really long time still fail, because we are all human.

In today’s reading you are going to read about a massive failure on Abrahams part.  Enjoy the reading and then join me in the video so we can talk about the grace of God and the forgiveness of Sarah.

Read: Genesis 12:10-20

Questions to Consider:

  1. Who is your favorite Bible character and why?
  2. Has someone ever hurt you by using you?  How did you or can you work to forgive that person?

Prayer:  God of all time, we are all people who have and will continue to make mistakes.  Help us each day to wake up and start each day as new.  Help us to follow after you as we run our races.  Amen.
