Let’s Talk about Baptism

Wow, wow, wow!  Yesterday was a great day!  Worshiping all together outside was wonderful!  I know we were not all there, and many of us were still watching from home, but it felt good to gather as a large group and of course to SING!  It even felt good to be doing it in the rain.  We joked yesterday that those of us who were walking around in the rain and that Jim especially were getting a chance to remember our baptisms.  But what does that really mean?  What do United Methodists really believe about baptism?  Well that is exactly what this week and this weekend is all about.  So, let’s get started on this weeks, What Makes Us Methodist: Baptism!

Read: Luke 3:1-22

Questions to Consider:

  1. Do you remember when you were baptized?
  2. Did you experience confirmation?
  3. What are your thoughts about both of those experiences?  Do you remember anything significant about them?
  4. Have you ever experience a Remembrance of Baptism?

Prayer: God of Power, we are thankful for this last weekend, for rain and for a chance to worship together as a church family.  Thank you for this week and a chance to learn about baptism!  Open our hearts and minds as we continue to explore what it means to be United Methodists.  Amen.
