Starting tomorrow you will be able to find our Advent Devotional: Sharing our Stories, here each day. Members of Lake Deaton UMC, staff and laity, have enjoyed spending their time and talents to put together this special devotional just for you. Starting with the first Sunday of Advent, November 29, and ending on Christmas Eve, we will post an Advent Devotion and discussion questions each day We encourage you to use this devotion in your private mediations, with your family or even with your small group. We hope that this devotional is a special blessing to you and everyone you share it with.
As you prepare to for Advent, we would like for you to spend a little time thinking about what Advent is about. During Advent, we prepare for, and anticipate, the coming of Christ. We remember the longing of Jews for a Messiah and our own longing for, and need of, forgiveness, salvation and a new beginning. Even as we look back and celebrate the birth of Jesus in a humble stable in Bethlehem, we also look forward anticipating the second coming of Christ as the fulfillment of all that was promised by his first coming.
